Messenger (2002)

Painting based on a photo of a (Domino's) pizza deliveryman sitting on top of a sewage lid located in Jaffa at the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. The painting's sub-title (300 hours of work are equal to a de livery boy's wage) confronts the state of the artist as a poor man while calculating wage by the hour according to realistic pricing for a young artist. The work deals with modern poverty and cultural relations between Israel and the West, by presenting a poor, overweight person gazing westwards. Tel Aviv Museum collection.
